Harriet S. Tapley Papers, 1903-1961.

Harriet S. Tapley was a librarian at the Essex Institute in Salem, MA from 1927-1955. In 1902 when the Commonwealth of Massachusetts sponsored the publication of vital records, Tapley was asked to compile and prepare for printing the records and files for the Quarterly Courts of Essex County from 1636-1682. She also edited artiles for inclusion in the Essex Institute Historical Collections.Collection includes letters, business correspondence, and an autobiography of Tapley.
